Matting Prevention
Grooming Rules:
-
Being a pet parent is about recognizing & normalizing hygiene needs.
-
Brush-outs are to prevent matting not to de-mat.
-
If you want to de-mat a full groom is necessary.
-
Brushing when there is matting is painful for your dog.
-
If you get a groom or brush-out for your pup when there is matting, it will hurt, and your dog will resist the groom/brush-out.
-
If you continue to get brush-outs/grooms when there is matting, the resistance will lead to anger or aggression during the brush-out/groom.
-
Choosing a healthier routine to avoid matting will prevent pup's resistance turning into anger
-
The appropriate brushing routine is based on how curly, course and thick the hair is not by bread.
-
Brushing is a lot of work, takes time & patience, and is a learned skill.
