Dog Daycare Requirements and Policies

Cancellation Policy

We do understand that sometimes the best laid plans can change. If you need to cancel your reservation for an upcoming stay, please call us at (614) 423-7032. 

 

Although we strive to be as understanding as possible, normally daycare and grooming cancellations and no-shows the day of  your pet’s reservation are charged 100% of the cost of the scheduled stay.

Requirements and Vaccinations

  • All dogs must undergo a First Day Orientation for behavior assessment. This ensures that we make the best placement decisions for your dog during their stay!

  • All dogs over seven months of age must be spayed or neutered

  • ​Current on all vaccines

    • Rabies​

    • DHPP

    • Leptospirosis

    • Bordetella

  • Canine Influenza – recommended, but we will defer to your vet’s recommendation

  • Heartworm exam – required every 12 months

  • Flea and tick free

  • The following situations will incur a $10 fee

    • Drop off before 7am or after 9am​

    • Pick up after 7pm; After 7:30pm, the dog will be boarded overnight in a luxury suite at the owner's expense

    • Reservations made after 6pm for the following day

Cancellation Policy

  • We do understand that sometimes the best-laid plans can change. If you need to cancel your reservation for an upcoming stay or groom, please call us at (614) 423-7032 at least 24 hours before your groom.

(You will receive an Appointment Reminder by text 48 hours in advance)

  • Canceling without at least 24 hours notice will result in a charge of 50% of the value of the service on the first cancellation and a 100% charge of the service on the second cancellation. This is to ensure respect for our team's time and profession.  (Please note, we do this for grooms in order to ensure our groomers maintain a livable wage consistently, as they are paid by commission & tips only.

Pet Sitting

Sterling K9 values our grooming patrons along with our daycare families. When you add on SK9G pet sitting will get access to:

  • Walk Every 2 hours

  • Pet CPR & First Aid

  • Perfectional Dog Handers

  • Hair Skin and Nails Specialist

Flea Policy

  • We are VERY diligent in keeping our shop clean, but fleas happen! If fleas are found on your dog, we will administer a capstar and a flea bath immediately. You will be notified and an additional $30 fee will be added to your reservation charge for that day. 

    (Pro Tip - If you let us know before the appointment we will give you $5 off the flea treatment)

Late Drop Off

  • Parents are welcome to drop off up to a half hour before the scheduled appointment. Our system is set up to add a $10 late fee for those pups checked in after the scheduled time.

Vaccination Requirements 

​Your dog's safety is our first consideration! We will contact your veterinarian for vaccine records once your application is received.
 

"The AAHA also recommended moving the “annual” vaccine to every three years. In 2006 they reconfirmed these recommendations."
 

  • Rabies

The AAHA panel agreed that the four core vaccines above should be administered to every dog. We deserve the right to charge you the half price groom Cancelation Charge is some extreme and rare Circumstances. 

(Pro Tip - Vaccines take 10 days to reach full efficacy!)
 

Matting Charges

  • Matting is not only painful for your dog and creates a negative connection to getting groomed, but is also emotionally taxing for the groomer. As with all other grooming facilities, we charge when we find matting. This additional charge is on the severity of the matting. We rate matting as follows:


Light            $25

Medium      $50
Heavy          $85
Severe        $110
 

  • For pups not properly socialized or wound up, we charge an additional $20 for the other groomer's time to help with your dog's groom. You always have the option to take daycare breaks if you choose the play-and-groom option. 

Appointment Length

Please give us 3-4 hours to ensure consistent personal care for your pup. (Box Fan/Hand Dry Only ) This time ensures we will achieve consistent personal care before you receive your pups pick up test. (Please do not come to the Salon until) Needing your pup in a shorter amount of time, let us know at drop-off and we will try our best to accommodate your needs. When your pet it ready for pick-up, please come get them promptly.

Leash Policy

 We want you to LOVE your dog's groom and each of our groomers do their best to listen to your instruction, so they are able to recreate what you have envisioned. If you are unhappy in any way, please reach out within 72 hours after your pets groom. We will be happy to listen to your concerns and make any changes you feel are necessary at no additional cost to you while adding notes for the next time!

Cancellation Policy

Although we strive to be as understanding as possible, normally daycare and grooming cancellations and no-shows the day of  your pet’s reservation are charged 100% of the cost of the scheduled stay.

If you cancel 3 days or more prior to your pet’s reservation there is no charge. Cancellations made with only 1 or 2 days prior to your pet’s reservation are charged 50% of the cost of the scheduled stay. 

Requirements and Vaccinations

  • All dogs must undergo a First Day Orientation (At half price!) for behavior assessment. This ensures that we make the best placement decisions for your pet during his / her stay!

  • Female dogs over 7 months old must be spayed

  • Male dogs over 7 months old must be neutered

  • Rabies – 1 or 3 year

  • DHPP (distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, and parainfluenza)

  • Leptospirosis – administered yearly and bolstered if your dog is not current

  • Bordetella -annually and administered at least 10 days prior to check-in to ensure maximum efficiency and protection against kennel cough

  • Canine Influenza – recommended, but we will defer to your vet’s recommendation

  • Heartworm exam – required every 12 months

  • Flea and tick free

  • All dogs must be dropped off by 9am or a $10 late drop off fee will incur

  • Dogs dropped off before 7am will incur a $10 early drop off fee

  • All dogs must be picked up by 7pm or a $10 late pick-up fee will incur. After 7:30pm, daycare becomes an upgrade to a luxury suite

  • Reservation must be made by 6pm the day before, otherwise a $10 charge may incur.
